Killer Catfish

European catfish have been eating their food source and they need another one, what do they go after, Pigeons. There have been studies of catfish and they have recorded 58 times that they have successfully captured and ate the pigeons. The catfish would swim close to the shore and jump at the birds, then drag them back into  the water and consume them. The killer catfish has been compared with the bottlenose dolphin. the bottlenose dolphin would chase fish to the land, also the Argentinian killer whale, that goes to beaches to catch sea lions.

Zombies Help the Community

Many people believe that the on December 21 2012 the world will end. Nobody knows how it will end. People believe that solar flares will cause all of electricity to be wiped out, that natural disasters will destroy our earth, and some believe that there will be a Zombie Apocalypse will kill us all. This phenomenon cause  gun and ammo sales to increase drastically. Gun and ammo companies have been taking advantage of this by creating cartridges called zombie cartridges, containing shotgun shells and rifle shells. Some people think that the popular show “The Walking Dead” is to blame, causing people to believe that they need to prepare for the zombies to attack.

Confetti gone bad

Every year at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade there tons of confetti flying through the air, this year the parade goers found something interesting and disturbing  about it. They noticed that it was shredded up police documents, but they were still legible. On these sheds of documents there were social security numbers and banking information for police employees, some of them were undercover police officials. They say that the documents were shredded horizontally and Newsday says that it is one of the least secure methods of shredding documents. This allowed entire lines to be able to read.

100 UFO's Spotted

Over the past few months people have spotted over 100 UFO’s along the India-China border, and people are just puzzled about this the Times of India reported that "yellowish spheres appear to lift off from the horizon on the Chinese side and slowly traverse the sky for three to five hours before disappearing." The UFO sightings have the military groups stumped over this phenomenon. After examining the photos taken by the ITBP, army officials ruled out unmanned aerial vehicles. According to India Today while one of the UFO’s was spotted it was not picked up on radar, which indicated it was non-metallic .

Carrot for a movie

A movie theater in Spain, tried to avoid paying taxes on tickets, by selling carrots instead.  The tax rate was increased to 21%, and they said that if they continued to sell the tickets they would go bankrupt. They remembered that carrots were only taxed 4% because vegetables are classified as a staple and so that they are not taxed as much as other things. Tax rate on tickets were only 8% so “Spain loves the ‘Carrot Rebellion’.” Shows and theater are selling out even the local mayor is on the owner’s side. Economists warn the owner that he was committing tax evasion.

Paintball Fight, World Vs. Asteroid

“An epic battle between paintballs and a giant asteroid could one day save the Earth from an apocalyptic space rock impact.” Scientists believe that if an asteroid was going to crash into the earth that if they shoot a cloud of paintballs into space, it would nudge the asteroid off its path and the pale paint job resulting from the splattered pellets would more than double the space rock's sunlight reflectivity. More photons bouncing off the asteroid's surface would enhance solar radiation pressure and bump it further off course. Then the earth would be saved.

Madagascar 3 or Paranormal Activity 4???????

A group of children are scarred for life after wanting to go see Madagascar 3. Cineworld Cinema in Nottingham, England by accident show Paranormal Activity 4 instead of Madagascar 3 to a theater filled with little children. Employees called it a “technical error”. “It was only about two minutes worth of film but It was enough to scar them for life,” Lewis, 32, said. I feel that the cinema should have to pay for any counseling for the kids if the need it, because it was their fault for showing the wrong movie.

Fish Saves lives

Bobby Ghassmi was hospitalized after a car crash. A hole was cut into his windpipe.  The doctors said that there was no telling whether or not he was going to live. He was driving too fast down a road in Virginia when his car rolled off the road. He was in a coma before the paramedics arrived at the seen. The doctors thought that they could use the brick wall analogy. That is the theory that using omega-3 fatty acids to heal brain injury.  The reason this might work is because the brain is itself a fatty acid and is 30% composed of omega-3 acids.

iPad mini.... WHY?????????

Apple is coming out with a new tablet. It is called the iPad mini (or iPad Nano). It is set to release in early November, just in time for the Christmas shoppers. I ask myself is it the same as an iTouch? No, the iPad mini is 7.85 inches compared to the 9.7 inches for the regular iPad. I don’t understand why people would want to buy this. What makes it better than the regular iPad? Maybe because it is new on the market people will just want to buy it. It is cheaper because apple will want to compete whit other tablets such as the kindle fire and Google is coming out with another tablet also.

School's Out for Chicago

Four hundred thousand students are out of school until further notice. The reasoning behind it is that the teacher of the country’s third largest school district went on strike after their union and school officials failed to come to a contract agreement after ten months of discussion. This walk out is the first in twenty five years for Chicago. With no school for the students of Chicago the parents are worried about their kids. "If the kids are not in school, they're out getting into some kind of trouble ... when they should be in school, learning."
