Carrot for a movie

A movie theater in Spain, tried to avoid paying taxes on tickets, by selling carrots instead.  The tax rate was increased to 21%, and they said that if they continued to sell the tickets they would go bankrupt. They remembered that carrots were only taxed 4% because vegetables are classified as a staple and so that they are not taxed as much as other things. Tax rate on tickets were only 8% so “Spain loves the ‘Carrot Rebellion’.” Shows and theater are selling out even the local mayor is on the owner’s side. Economists warn the owner that he was committing tax evasion.
